The WST-1 CTLL-2 ready-to-use cell proliferation Kit was optimized for applications with CTLL-2 cells. The cytotoxic murine T-cell line CTLL-2 is well-suited and frequently used to assess the biological activity of the cytokines Interleukin 2 (IL-2), as well as IL 4, IL-12 and IL-18.. The WST-1-CTLL-2 ready-to-use cell proliferation Kit provides an easy, fast and accurate method to determine the cell proliferation which depends on the presence of specific cytokines. The quantification is based on the cleavage of the water soluble tetrazolium salt WST-1 to the formazan dye by viable cells only. Expansion in the number of viable cells leads to an increase of produced formazan dye, which can be quantified by determining the absorbance at 420/480 nm. This absorbance strongly correlates with the number of viable cells.
