Human Platelet Lysate is manufactured by Platelet-apheresis from single donors and tested infectious serologically twice.
The supplement is

Substitutes FBS in cell culture media
Human Platelet Lysate (hPL) contains a whole variety of proteins and growth factors (cytokines) and represents a superior alternative to Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS). So hPL not only supports the expansion of mesenchymal stromal cells (hMSC) but of various different cell lines as well. We at CLS have cultivated a couple of human immortal cell lines (A-549; Caco-2, HaCaT, MCF-7, U-251 MG) as well as human Gingival Fibroblasts (HGF) and human Dental Pulp Stem cells (DPSCs) with encouraging results. Adding 5% hPL instead of 10% FBS to the cell culture medium which are recommended for the cell lines mentioned resultued in excellent proliferation.
This hPL has been manufactured on an industrial scale according to GMP standards.
